Basin Focal Project (BFP) organized a review and planning meeting in Cali, Colombia from 1-5 February, 2008. The meeting reviewed results of the first set of BFPs (Volta, Mekong, Sao Francisco and Karkheh) and recommendations were made for fine tuning their results to maximize impact. Research plans of the second set of BFPs (Yellow River, Niger, Andean System, Indo-Ganges, Limpopo and Nile) were reviewed and the meeting gave a platform to transfer lessons learned from BFP1s to BFP2s. Special topics on methodologies like poverty analysis, hydro-economic modeling and water use accounting were presented by experts.
